Background of the Invention
- Every day, we feel and hear about the global warming as the same is taking place across the world due to pollution, usage of refrigerators and Air conditioners, deforestation, growth of population, development of industries, emission from vehicles etc.
- Hence, many places get unexpected heavy rain, severe heat and cold across the world and these cause a lot of suffering.
- In the above scenario, living conditions of the people are getting affected due to weather in summer and winter seasons. Since most people cannot afford to use the Air conditioners in summer, they suffer a lot and due to these they are exposed to seasonal diseases like fever, cough, cold, sleeping disorders, discomfort during daytime and respiratory problems.
- Similarly people are affected due to severe cold also to manage the same only a few of them are able to afford room heaters and others suffer due to non
affordability of such equipment.
- Those who cannot afford to use Air conditioners in their houses, manage with fans and still many people are living under MS sheets and AC sheets structures with or without even fans.
- The people who are financially better off go for false ceiling arrangements to bring down the room temperature and remain warm during cold climatic conditions.
- In the above background, Weather Fabrics made of yarn are invented to improve the living conditions of the people.
Objects of Invention
- The objective of the Invention is to protect the people from severe heat and cold due to atmospheric effect in a simple and economical manner with eco friendly materials even in villages and small towns. The installation work calls for minimum skill and less manpower.
- The cost involved in providing the Weather Fabrics is very low when compared with conventional false ceiling. Whereas the comfort/benefit is in many ways to the occupants like protection from ill effects, medical expenses avoided, comfortable sleep, saving in electric power cost, more productivity in day time and not causing any health hazard to the users etc.
- It is well known from our experience in the construction industry that conventional type of terrace weathering course with brickbats and lime surki was effective and the same was withstanding the climatic changes fairly well. But such type of construction is rare now due to unavailability of quality bricks and lime and the good workmanship. Thus poor quality of weathering course is also one of the reasons for transmission of considerable heat and cold into the building.
- Providing conventional False ceiling has other disadvantages also like floor height is getting reduced by 300 mm or more and as such inconvenience is caused to the occupants. Whereas in Weather Fabrics there is no such restriction as it occupies less than 25 mm thickness enabling the occupants to utilize more available headroom for their convenience.
So in all the above respects viz. comfort during adverse weather conditions, health, affordability, eco friendliness and power saving, Weather Fabrics is the best one for use in buildings across the world.
The summary of Invention
- The Weather Fabrics are made by weaving in handlooms and power looms according to the requirements in terms of thickness and colour and room sizes. It has got good insulation characteristics and gives thermal comfort to the occupants to a great extent. It does not allow the heat and cold to pass through it from the ceiling and therefore room temperature remains relatively low in summer. Similarly in winter, the room temperature remains higher than the ambient temperature because of the usage of the Weather Fabrics.
- So when the Weather Fabrics are fixed under the ceiling of the roof whether the same is RCC or tiled or AC sheets or GI sheets, the room temperature becomes relatively lower than the outside and thereby the occupants residing under the same get substantial comfort from the adverse weather conditions.
- On the four sides of the room, hooks are fixed at suitable spacing and Weather Fabrics/wire ropes are tied connecting the fabric with hooks to tightly hold the Weather Fabrics in a horizontal plane close to the ceiling. The four sides of the room are to be fixed with Aluminium L angle to prevent entry of lizards or any other insects. As an alternative Aluminium or GI or rolled sections can be used to support the Weather Fabrics in an aesthetic manner in lieu of Weather Fabrics rope.
Detailed description of the invention
- The Weather Fabrics is made of Yarn and woven in handlooms or power looms to the required size, thickness, colour as per the requirement.
- Weather Fabrics has very low thermal conductivity of 0.035 W/(m K) at 25 Deg Celsius and therefore it is good insulating material and so facilitates providing comfortable levels to the occupants living thereunder. The thermal conductivity of concrete is 2.5 W/(m K). From the above values, one can understand that by using the Weather Fabrics as a shield between the roof slab and room space below, the thermal conductivity is getting reduced to 0.035 W/(m K) from 2.5 W/(m K) which is negligible. It is proposed to use the Weather Fabrics under the roofing of clay tiles / GI sheets with protective coating /AC sheets also as the thermal conductivity of such materials is very high and the occupants suffer a lot due to extreme temperatures.
- Aluminium or GI or MS rolled sections can be used to support the Weather Fabrics in ceiling of buildings and sheet roofing.
- The fabric can also be treated for fire retardant, antimicrobial finish and smooth finish which is again linked with cost but not connected to the intended purpose of comfortable weather condition.
